HOW CAN WE IMAGINE THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE FUTURE? WHAT'S THE SHARED VALUE OF THE CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY? WHAT'S THE MAIN HUMAN NEED IN THE TECHNOCRATIC WORLD OF TODAY, IN WHICH "FREEDOM" HAS NO ABSOLUTE MEANING ANYMORE, BUT IT'S RELATIVE TO SPECIFIC FIELDS OF EXPERTISE? ARE THE ACADEMIC DEFINITIONS OF ARCHITECTURE, NATURE AND LANDSCAPE, STILL VALID? OR CAN WE THINK ABOUT A NEW CONCEPT OF
"ENVIRONMENT" THAT COULD INCLUDE AND REFRESH ALL OF THEM?
IN OUR PROJECT WE TRY TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS, FOCUSING THE ATTENTION IN A VERY SPECIFIC CONTEXT. MILAN, A CITY (AND ACOUNTRY) WHERE HISTORY AND PRE-EXISTENT ARE STILL SHARED VALUES TO THE PEOPLE.
ENERGY SUPPLY IS A CENTRAL THEME TODAY, BUT WE BELIEVE ARCHITECTURE HAS A CENTRAL CORE THAT SHOULD GO AHEAD TO THE SPECIFIC TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC NEEDS OF THIS TIME. IN OUR PROJECT FOR MILAN, WE WANT TO REPLY TO THE THEME "ENERGY", BUT AT THE SAME TIME, WE WANT TO HAVE A LOOK TO WHAT THIS CITY COULD BE IN THE SPECIFIC ITALIN CONTEXT, TRYING TO RELATE HISTORY AND FUTURE; HUMAN AND NATURE; AND ARCHITECTURE AND TECHNOLOGY.
