En65 - Flexibles Wohnen
This recently completed building is devised as a Fexible Framwork for Living. Situated in an upscale neighborhood of Stuttgart Bad-Cannstadt it is benefitting from sweeping uninterrupted views from its location on a southern slope.
Service modules are placed into the northern zone of its open-plan arrangement. These accommodate all technical and service installations and are the elements of the design that have to remain as-built throughout the design life of the building, like bathrooms and toilets. The kitchens can be docked immediately next to these.
The location in plan of the service modules suggests that the northen part of the house is predominantly dedicated to sleeping and cooking, and to accommodate the entrance.
The southern part of the flexible plan is the living and lounge area that can be left as a single space, or be subdivided with partitions into smaller rooms. This allows for various possible fit-out scenarios, from Loft-style arrangement to plans with up to five rooms.
The upper levels have a south-facing continuous balcony deck that is 1.5m deep. This works as an extension of the living area as well as passive sunshading device that keeps out the summer sun at steep angles.
The ground level is connected to the exterior with a generous terrace.
The tenancy also includes the use of a lift, a parking deck and a roof terrace.
