The uncommon possibilities of this project lie in the urban plan and the typology of the building desired by the client. The volume of the building is placed along the edge of the parcel and fully along its depth. The volume of the top floor along the street and along the water is turned. This result in a build-up of public and private inner spaces that lie in constant contact with one and other.
The open public space flows over the garden hedge and under the turned volume into the private living area. The space on the ground floor is completely open to the garden while twisting into the upper floor via the staircase. Here the living area is connected with the street via a large window.
By twisting the building, the parcel and house itself is used fully in its depth while conserving privacy within its open character.
