Landscape for a new harbour
The area within this project takes place is a tipical landscape were Nature gives the rules to act on. It is a landscape that needs to be listened, watched and understood before doing anything.
Vegetal species, smells, perfumes, wind, colours and all the natural elements contribute to make the sense of this project.
As a landscape intervention, it was absolutely necessary to find the genius loci of this beautiful sea environment.
A significant important is given to the Mediterranean trees, with its shapes, its movements caused by the wind, its perfumes, its obstinate attitude that is able to stand rude environment conditions.
The project wants to make the most of the natural contest. The bright idea of the project came through the observation of the morphology of shells. Nature is the protagonist of the Albany project. Nature that becomes home, nature that is modelled to become lighthouses.
The small houses develop all around an horizontal spiral that protects from the speedy winds and that as well cerates in the middle a warm habitation core.
The lighthouse tower develop as a sandy shell section. As the mini habitations, the lighthouse goes all around a vertical spiral.
The entire project is a sort of hymn to the beauty and cleverness of nature.
