House In Mixcoac (with Frente / Juan Pablo Maza)
This Project is located in the Mixcoac neighbourhood. The façade of the existing building is kept intact and a new construction is erected on the small plot of land behind it.
Since the total area of the plot was very limited we tried to give the house as much as possible a spacious effect. The ground floor plan was dived lengthwise into the living area and the garden that extends along the whole dept of the plot. The upper floor consists of a turned volume breaking the orthogonality of the scheme.
Additional games with scale, textures and perspective reinforced the initial idea. For example the garden is elevated towards the back and the variations in the modulation of the window framing make the garden look deeper than it really is.
At ground level the small house has its kitchen, studio, living area, bathroom and a bedroom. The upper floor includes the master bedroom, walking closet, bathroom and terrace.
