Single-family Dwelling House
Half a hectare of land has given us an opportunity to create our own world and order. The house has been erected among the trees and opens itself to a glade going down towards the south and covered with a smooth lawn. The trees are very close to the house, they are all around right behind the windowpanes. Slender windows in the two-storey sitting room show high trunks of pines considered by us the greatest value of the plot .
We worked with our customer searching for the best solutions through conversations and drawings. Looking for a quality we were asking about dimensions and weight. A board of 27 centimetres and a joint of 3. Horizontal and vertical lines, rhythms, several colours: wood, stone, concrete, glass. Sometimes black, stainless or titanium steel. Chamotte bricks.
The house is soft to the touch. The materials and textures give different sensations. Wide boards on facades heat up slowly. Corners are smooth and strong. The cut sandstone is sometimes additionally grooved. Granite treated with flames. The hammered surface of the massive stone slab at the entrance door provokes you to put your hand on it. Your steps on a pavement of rough plates are different from those on granite blocks. And different from those on gravel path.
