Lakeside House
Within the limits of the existing building envelope the cell-like structure was replaced with a new spacial concept. Three cubes articulate the whole floor area in well proportionated functional areas.
The completely new room connections create multiple impressions on small space. Walls and ceilings are thoroughly cladded with European silver fir planks.
The existing timber pillings on the floor were polished and oiled. The well positioned cubes are sophisticated carpenter elements in grey varnished MDF. The showers and toilets in these elements are painted in strong ultramarine and raspberry red.
In the great part, only soft interventions were realized on the outside of the house. Two large panorama windows oriented to Lake Zurich emphasize the connection of the inner spaces to the surrounding nature.
On the technical part, the realization of an air heat pump, which can be activated by SMS, provides enough warmth for the transitional seasons and prevents cooling down of the house in wintertime.
