Manuel Alves & José Manuel Gonçalves's Store
The project proposes a total overhaul of the spatial and environmental conditions of the site, tailoring it to its use as a store and showroom of clothing from the author.
The occupation is at the ground floor level and -1, with the entrance made by the 0 level, from Serpa Pinto Street, near the window. This is one of the key elements of this area of contact with the road, of arriving and exposure. Here there are objects, also a collection designed by the fashion designers, in shelves, occupying the entire wall, being the wall parallel to the street occupied by a projection of large dimension images.
Access to floor -1 is made by a ladder deployed along the left side wall, replacing the already existing one. This stair is accompanied by a panel of high density plywood, with lightning inside, and in which there are windows of variable dimensions, marking the descent route, and simultaneously being lighting elements of the circulation.
Downstairs are exhibited collections of man and woman. The areas corresponding to each of the collection are formally and spatially distinct, and chromatically opposed, being unified by the design of some elements of space and light treatment.
The project mainly involves the improvement and adaptation to the new use of space, which translates into the development of solutions such as the establishment of solid surface panels fixed to the preexisting walls.
These panels serve as exhibit elements of the collections, incorporating clothing rods (-1 floor), shelves (both floors) and windows (level 0 ad along the stairs).
The fixed equipment and furnishing are designed both to be usable for the display of parts and to service.
