Restaurant Blue & Green - Tróia Design Hotel
Tróia Design Hotel
The Tróia Design Hotel project comes, in time, in continuation of the Francisco da Conceição Silva´s project for a resort on the peninsula of Tróia, in the '70s, of which only one part was even built, and was interrupted in 1974.
The intervention focuses on some new hotel's public spaces, including restaurants (Blue & Green and Mediterranean) and Bar-Nightclub-Lounge.
The projects for these public areas, relate to each other through the way light is controlled and affects each of the spaces, giving a special ambience to each.
It is characterized by an abundance of natural light, filtered through blades of concrete, complemented by an artificial illumination system, in the ceilings, horizontal light boxes, which reveal the niches existing all over the area, and by the kitchen´s monolithic volume, which is wrapped into a metal mesh, allowing to create a controlled visual relationship between the public and the Chef´s preparation and experimentation place.
This volume divides the restaurant into two distinct spaces, one more reserved and one more public, allowing to adjust the privacy and light levels through the large blue velvet curtains, which control the exposure of the openings on the tops and moderate the relationship with the surroundings.
At the entrance, a reception and waiting area completes the restaurant´s spaces.
