Saatchi & Saatchi
To celebrate 40 year in the industry, Saatchi &Saatchi commissioned award winning Architects studio
octopi to implement a striking refurbishment to their headquartersí reception in central London.
Using Saatchi & Saatchi's British origins a 'Best of British' concept was refected in the artwork and
furnishings. The bespoke illustration in the cafe was carried out by Hennie Hawarth.
studio octopi proposed domestic furnishings and hearty, familiar materials and!nishes. With classic
furniture, oak flooring and feature lighting, the reception has become the heart of the agency for dining, meetings and events.
James Burleigh's Bosa tables, with regal red laminate and oak frame, create a sociable work/meet/eat
dynamic, whilst more solitary window tables overlook the street. The chairs are designed by Charles and Ray Eames and upholstered in red, blue and white leather.
Formed from fnger jointed oiled oak, the bespoke window tables join a recurring oak theme that was also introduced in the reception desk, cafe counter and flooring. Barber Osgerby's TabLight has been wall mounted to provide an intimate reading light over the window tables.
studio octopi won the refurbishment of the reception and cafe through an invited competition.
studio octopi are also working on the refurbishment of advertising agency Beattie McGuinness Bungay
(BMB) in Covent Garden due for completion at the end of the year.
