Tourist and Fluvial Pier of Folgosa
The Tourist and Fluvial Pier of Folgosa is situated in the demarcated region of Douro, universally known for its wine and magnificent landscapes, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. The reformulation and re-qualification of this Fluvial Pier located in Régua, along the river Douro, was proposed, including the regularization and landscape treatment of the terrain alongside the river, by adding a tidal port ramp and creating a tourism area.
The tourism area contains two buildings, one destined as a bar/restaurant endowed with infrastructures that support the fluvial pier, and the other destined as a kiosk supporting the leisure areas. The bar/restaurant building is built over a structure of metallic profiles sitting on reinforced concrete stakes. Access to the building is done through a wide causeway that ends in an esplanade area that is paved deck style, making use of the magnificent Douro scenery, that can be observed all across the visual horizon.
