LEÇA SWIMMING POOL

ÁLVARO SIZA

From the Publisher

The swimming pool by Álvaro Siza at Leça da Palmeira opened 15 years before Nicolò Galeazzi was born. When Álvaro Siza received the Pritzker Prize, Galeazzi was just 5 years old. In spite of this gap, the relationship between the “Old Master” and the young architect-photographer couldn’t be closer. Galeazzi manages to forcefully tell us – yet again – about the extraordinary ability to listen, discover and reveal the context that is the unique, inimitable characteristic of Álvaro Siza's architecture.

Our catalogue includes two more contributions by Nicolò Galeazzi: ISSUE 27, a report on an interior by one of the most interesting architects on the Italian scene, Beniamino Servino; and ISSUE 21, a refined interpretation of a country house's renovation project by Filippo Bricolo.
